At Health Coaches our emphasis is on helping you maintain and optimize your health. With our 10 years in this business we have the expertise and experience to make this a turning point in your life.

If your goals are as modest as regaining flexibility or as ambitious as training for your first marathon, if you need injury rehabilitation or sports-specific training, Health Coaches will deliver outstanding results.

The Consultation...

Your Health Coaches trainer will analyze your lifestyle, your exercise and medical history, diet and nutrition concerns, and listen to your needs.

Based on this information, your trainer will develop a program that is unique to you, no generic templates!

Regardless of your age, body type or fitness level, you will benefit from a customized program at Health Coaches. We offer core and functional strength training, traditional weight training, cardiovascular and flexibility conditioning. If you spend time on the road or prefer to exercise at home, we'll develop a program to meet those needs.

Health Coaches Management:

Mark Holmes, the owner of Health Coaches, has nearly 20 years experience in the health and fitness field. At the Bay Club, one of Portland's foremost fitness centers, he was General Manager, and led the development of a key partnership with a national physical therapy group. He also was responsible for training and mentoring the club's personal fitness staff. In Camden, he created and directed comprehensive corporate health programs for Fortune 100 companies. In New York, Mark was Sales Director for Miavita, a groundbreaking online corporate health and wellness program.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from the University of Maine, with a concentration in human anatomy and exercise physiology.
 

Susan Ahlers has been with Health Coaches since 2006 working as a Personal Trainer and a Wellness Coach. With nearly 19 years experience in the fitness industry, Susan has worked for one of the most respected health clubs in the country. She has had the opportunity to work in every capacity including management, sales, program design and personal training. She has worked with a variety of clients ranging from athletes to individuals who need a more medically based approach to improving their fitness.

Susan has a Master's degree in Education specializing in Exercise Science from the University of Maine.
